Steve French is a 25 year old fashion artist from Ghana. Before graduating from Radford University College, Stevie Frenchie already worked with household names from the music and fashion industry, such as Joey B, Deborah Vanessa, Ofoe Amegavie, Rania Odaymat and Efya.
During his fashion university days, he was featured on Ndani Lifestyle, CNN Africa, Pulse Ghana, Fashion Ghana, iD Magazine (Netherlands) and Creative Updates all thanks to his social media presence. We also spotted Dutch politician, Petra Stienen, wearing his designs in 2017.
When it comes to fashion, the business of it and technology involved, he has in-depth knowledge and experience, especially after interning with fashion house, Studio 189 in 2016. From sketching designs and designing textiles, to production and manufacturing, styling and packaging, Steve French has it all covered and is willing to share this knowledge with other creative hustlers.
In 2013, he was the assistant designer and stylist for Deborah Vanessa’s ‘DV for Printex’ collection at Glitz Africa Fashion Week (GAFW).
He officially revealed his first collection, ‘Alewa’, at the Ghana Garden & Flower Show in 2015 and got positive feedback.
In 2016, Steve French proved that he had come to stay as a designer, when he blew the audience’s mind away with his ‘Beautiful Imperfection’ collection at the Radford Graduate Fashion Show at Kempinski Hotel.
‘Beautiful Imperfection’ was also showcased at GAFW 2016 and featured on numerous blogs such as UnArtiste, Spice TV Nigeria, Debonair Afrique to name a few.
Steve French also partook in Ghana Fashion camp; Design Week 2016, and in that same year, he was invited to showcase his designs at a Mercedes Benz Ghana exposé.
In 2017, he created a custom collection for the Indigenous Textiles Showcase put together by the Australian Embassy in Ghana.
And to crown his year, he was invited to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to showcase his designs at the Ghana Embassy in celebration of her 60th independence anniversary.
In 2018 , Steve French won the fusion Icon award for the FUSE IT 2.0 organized by the Embassy of the kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana in collaboration with Vlisco Ghana He is also an honoree of the Future Award Africa for Fashion and design 2019.
Aside, being well connected, influential and focused in the fashion industry, Steve is friendly, respectful, hard-working, resourceful, and always willing to share knowledge.
